Action links & updates

Share links and broadcast to guests

How do Action Links work?

Action Links let you configure URLs that Hostigram shares with guests at the right moment. Each link has a title, URL, description, and a 'context trigger', a natural language phrase that tells Hostigram when to present it. For example, a trigger like 'restaurant booking' means Hostigram will show your reservation link when a guest mentions dining. Links can be displayed as rich cards, buttons, or inline text.

What are context triggers?

Context triggers are plain-language descriptions of when Hostigram should share a link. Write them as you'd explain to a colleague: 'when the guest asks about checking out late', 'when someone wants to book a spa treatment', or 'when they need airport transport'. Hostigram uses these to decide the most relevant moment to present each link.

Can I control when links are shown?

Yes. Each Action Link can be toggled active/inactive, and you can set optional date ranges (active from / active until) for seasonal or event-specific links. You can also mark links as 'proactive', meaning Hostigram will suggest them even if the guest hasn't specifically asked. Non-proactive links only appear when the guest's question matches the context trigger.

What are the Action Link limits per plan?

Free: 2 active Action Links. Starter: 5 active links. Standard: 15 active links. Group and Event plans: 10 active links. Premium/Enterprise: unlimited active links. Note that these limits apply to active links only, you can create and save inactive links beyond the limit and toggle them as needed.

How do host broadcast updates work?

From your hosting service page, use the 'Broadcast Update' form to send a message to all active guests. Choose 'Normal' or 'Urgent' priority. The update appears instantly in guests' notification bell panels. You can optionally check 'Also add to knowledge base' so Hostigram can reference the information in future conversations. Broadcasts require an active or testing guest link.

Can guests miss an update?

Updates persist in the notification panel for the duration of the guest's stay, so they won't miss them even if they're not actively using the chat. Unread updates show a badge on the bell icon. Urgent updates are visually highlighted in the panel.
