How does WhatsApp integration work?
Hostigram supports WhatsApp as a first-class communication channel alongside the web chat. Guests can text your hosting service's unique WhatsApp access code to +1 (612) 400-7319 on WhatsApp. The system recognizes the code, connects them to Hostigram, and they can chat directly in WhatsApp, no browser needed. Both channels share the same knowledge base.
How do I set up a WhatsApp code for my hosting service?
Go to your hosting service's Share tab and find the WhatsApp Integration card. Enter a unique code (uppercase letters and numbers, 3 to 20 characters), for example, 'MYHOTEL' or 'BEACHVILLA'. Click 'Save Code'. You can then copy the wa.me link, generate a WhatsApp-specific QR code, or share the code directly with guests.
What is the WhatsApp number guests text?
Guests text their access code to +1 (612) 400-7319. This is Hostigram's production WhatsApp number. The system routes the message to the correct hosting service's Hostigram based on the access code.
Do both web chat and WhatsApp connect to the same Hostigram?
Yes. Both channels connect to the same Hostigram powered by the same knowledge base. Any knowledge items, Action Links, or updates you add are available to guests regardless of whether they use the web chat or WhatsApp.
How do guests find the WhatsApp option?
Guests discover WhatsApp in several places: a 'Prefer WhatsApp?' banner on the web chat page, a fallback help link on the guest entry page, and a direct wa.me link included in shared emails. Hosts can also share the WhatsApp QR code or wa.me link directly.
Can I use both web chat and WhatsApp for the same hosting service?
Absolutely. WhatsApp is an additional channel, it doesn't replace the web chat. Guests can choose whichever they prefer. Some guests may start on the web and switch to WhatsApp later, or vice versa. Both channels work simultaneously.
